In a surprise move the DeKalb County Board of Education named former Superintendent Charles Warren (D) the interim principal at Plainview High School.
Warren was recommended by Superintendent Hugh Taylor (R) and the board voted 4-1 in favor of. What should be noted is the board voting against the wishes of Plainview's representative, Jeff Williams, who was the lone 'no' vote.
The contract is for $2,000 per month and expires July 31. Plainview High School has gone without a principal for 100+ days now since Rita Barksdale left for Hoover High School.
