FORT PAYNE, Ala. — (Full Video on our Facebook) The Fort Payne City Council conducted its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, April 21. Only citizens with essential business were allowed to attend.
The Council approved the following ordinances and resolutions:
- 2020-18 authorizing the installation and maintenance of roadway lighting along Gault Avenue from 3rd Street South to 8th Street North.
- 2020-19, declaring 3.73 acres of land located on the north end of the sports complex as surplus property and to be sold to Jet Polymer
- 2020-20 accepting the low bid for a used bucket truck
- 2020-21, accepting the low bid for a padfoot compactor
- 2020-22, authorizing an agreement for an industrial entrance and turn lane at YS, Inc.
In new business, the Council:
- Authorized bids for plant mix and binder
- Declared the month of April 2020 as Fair Housing Month
- After the June expiration of Randy McClung’s term on the Fort Payne Board of Education, the Council appointed Sharon Jones as his replacement.
The next meeting of the Fort Payne Council will be May 5, 2020.
