COLLINSVILLE, Ala. — The Collinsville Panthers faced the Asbury Rams for their Homecoming, defeating them 59-13.
Collinsville started their attack early, with a 34-yard run by Jarrod Barkley with 10:47 remaining in the first. The kick by Jason Perez was good, giving the Panthers the 7-0 lead. With 8:51 remaining in the first, Barkley scored once again on a 30-yard run. The kick by Perez, gave the Panthers the 14-0 lead. Kaleb Jones connected with Michael Tucker on a 12-yard pass for the score with 6:37 remaining in the first. The kick was blocked, making the score 20-0. Mason McKinney ran one in from 8-yards out with 4:54 remaining in the first to give the Panthers the 28-0 advantage. With 2:00 remaining the first quarter, Jones connected with Garrett Skelton on a 7-yard pass. The kick by Perez made the score 28-0.
Tyler Mims scored for the Panthers with 10:13 remaining in the second quarter. The extra point by Perez made the score, 42-0. With 5:37 to remain in the first half, Perez kicked a 36-yard field goal to bring the score to 45-0 going into the half.
Asbury scored on a 99-yard kickoff return with 11:37 remaining in the third quarter, making the score 45-6. Jones scored on a 77-yard kickoff return with 10:00 left in the third. The kick gave the Panthers the 52-6 lead.
Dalton Hughes scored on 8-yard run with 10:10 remaining in the fourth to make the score, 59-6. With 1:27 remaining on the time clock, Asbury scored on a 17-yard pass to make the final score 59-13.
Collinsville will travel to take on Sand Rock on Friday.
