LYNCHBURG, Va. — Proving that girls can compete any sport, Shay Nix, a sophomore at Plainview High School competed in the Taekwondo competition at the State Games of America in Virginia earlier this month. 

Nix took home the gold medal in sparring and the silver medal in forms. 

Nix is the 15-year-old daughter of Jeremy and Katrina Nix. Congratulations Shay!
