FORT PAYNE, Ala.—The Crossings at Fort Payne will begin a major construction project soon to welcome a big-time name
in restaurants to Fort Payne for the very first time, Applebees!
"We are extremely happy to announce that Fort Payne will soon be getting its first ever Applebee's," Fort Payne Mayor Larry Chesser said. "The restaurant will be located at the new shopping center, The Crossings, near the bottom of the property in the grassy patch. We do not know when they plan to break ground, but the building will be roughly 3,000 square feet and will no doubt bring on a few jobs. This is really exciting for the city of Fort Payne. Anytime we can celebrate the opening of a new business, that is good news."
The addition of Applebee's at The Crossings will make it the first restaurant and the fifth total business to set up shop in the newly developed commercial space since its opening following the redevelopment of the former K-Mart building.
The Crossings at Fort Payne Shopping Center is home to Dunham’s Sports, Badcock Furniture, Impact Nutrition and The Dollar Tree. Applebee's will be located in a separate, stand-alone retail space that will begin construction soon at The Crossings at Fort Payne.
Glad to see a new restaurant coming to Ft. Payne. The City of Ft. Payne and it’s citizens would benefit from more restaurants as choices of places to dine are extremely limited for a town of this size.
