Downtown Scottsboro was recognized for its work at the 12th annual Awards of Excellence Banquet.

During the banquet, Downtown Scottsboro was presented with three awards: Main Street Hero 2025, Excellence in Business Development 2025 and the Reinvestment Award.

The Main Street Hero was the City of Scottsboro Street Department, The Excellence in Business Development award was for Downtown Scottsboro’s Bingo & Biz event, while the Reinvestment Award was to commemorate a $5 million lifetime reinvestment into downtown.

“These awards truly shine a light on the people behind the scenes who make downtown so special,” Executive Director of Downtown Scottsboro Julia Whitehead said. “Our volunteers give so much of their time and energy, our business owners continue to invest and believe in downtown and our city leaders work tirelessly to support growth. None of this would be possible without them and this recognition is really a celebration of all their hard work and love for our community.”
