RAINSVILLE, Ala. — At the 52nd Annual Rainsville Chamber of Commerce Banquet, the Chamber honored Rodney Williams as Person of the Year and Farmers Telecommunications Cooperative (FTC) as the Business of the Year. The banquet was held at the city’s Tom Bevill Enrichment Center.

Williams, the owner of Sylvania Pharmacy, opened his first drug store in 1987. He went into the closed door pharmacy business in 1994, but by 2011, he found that he really missed the daily interactions with patients of retail pharmacy and bought his current business. 

Fred Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of Farmers Telecommunications Cooperative, accepted the Business of the Year award on behalf of the company.
