DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. — We will never forget April 27, 2011, and the massive tornado that made its path across DeKalb County.
When an EF-5 tornado passed through Rainsville, the wind peak was greater than 200 miles per hour and with a path measuring 33.8 miles long and ¾ miles wide, killing 35 people in the area and 238 across the state, according to the National Weather Service.
