WASHINGTON, D.C.-- The full US Senate voted 53-47, in favor of confirming Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court on Thursday. Three GOP senators joined Democrats to vote in favor of her confirmation.
Jackson makes history as the first Black woman and the first public defender to serve on the highest US court.
Jackson currently sits on DC’s federal appellate court. She will replace Justice Stephen Breyer when he retires this summer at the end of the term.
