BOAZ — Boaz City Schools is proud to announce that Boaz Middle School, Corley Elementary School and Boaz Intermediate School have been recognized as Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence Lighthouse Schools.
This prestigious honor highlights the district’s unwavering commitment to excellence in education and the outstanding efforts of its students, faculty and community.
The Lighthouse Award is the highest tier recognition awarded by the national non-profit Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence (BRSE).
To achieve this designation, schools are evaluated in nine key performance areas: student focus and support, school organization and culture, challenging standards and curriculum, active teaching and learning, technology integration, professional community, leadership and educational vitality, community partnerships, and indicators of success.
Each school was required to score at least 80% in seven of the nine categories, with Boaz Middle, Corley Elementary and Boaz Intermediate Schools excelling in areas such as leadership environment, integrated curriculum and instruction, staff collaboration, student leadership, parent and community engagement, goal tracking, and measurable results.

The rigorous evaluation process included stakeholder surveys, interviews and a two-day onsite review, ensuring the schools met the high standards of the Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence program.
Boaz Middle School, Corley Elementary School and Boaz Intermediate School now join a distinguished group of schools nationwide recognized for their exemplary educational practices and commitment to student success.
