Suspicious Vehicle results in arrest

From the Rainsville Police Department:

RAINSVILLE, Ala. — In the early morning hours of January 16, 2019, officers of the Rainsville Police Department received a call of a suspicious vehicle.

Officers responded to the area and located the vehicle. It was described as a Chevrolet Silverado, gold in color. Upon making contact with the driver, William Paul Poe, inside of the truck were several stolen items from a vehicle burglary and from the front porch of the residence.

Poe was arrested for several offenses including: unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle, theft of property 3rd, felon in possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of prescription drugs, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI and criminal trespass 1st.

He was transported to the Rainsville City Jail without incident. The above-mentioned property was released back to the owner.

Chief Kevin Smith commended the patrol division of the Rainsville Police Department for their quick response and fantastic work on the case.
