Nov. 11, 2015 — DEKALB COUNTY, Ala.—DeKalb County held a special election on Tuesday to fill two open constable seats in DeKalb Constable District 1 and DeKalb Constable District 4. In District 1, Republican Kyle Pike won 67 percent of the vote to defeat Democrat George Roberts. In District 4, write-in candidate Wendy Bobbitt defeated Republican Billy J. Whitt by the very narrow margin of 2 votes.

DeKalb County Probate Judge Ronnie Osborne said voter turnout was very low. Combined, DeKalb County Constable District 1 and DeKalb County Constable District 4 represent 24 of DeKalb County's 45 voting precincts. Only 326 of the 19,832 registered voters in the two districts turned out to vote in the special election to fill the two seats.

In the District 1 race between Pike and Roberts 224 votes were cast—151 votes (67%) for Pike, 65 votes (29%) for Roberts and 8 write-in votes.

In the District 4 race, Republican Billy J. Whitt ran unopposed and turnout was even lower—102 total votes cast. Whitt received 49 votes (49%) and write-in candidate Wendy Bobbitt received 51 votes (51%) with two write-in votes for other candidates.
