Douglas Eagle multi-sport star Cason Walls has signed with Lawson State to continue his baseball career. Wall’s senior season on the mound was impressive, as he struck out 68 batters in 44 innings. Walls also held his opponents to a batting average of .168.
“It is with immense pride and joy that we announce Cason Walls’ commitment to play baseball at Lawson State Community College,” said Douglas baseball head coach Kyle Redmond.
“This marks an exciting new chapter in Cason’s journey—a testament to years of hard work, determination, and passion for the game. During his senior season, Cason was a dominant force on the mound, pitching 44 innings, striking out 68 batters, and holding opponents to a batting average of just .168. His ability to consistently deliver under pressure and control the tempo of the game made him a true asset for his team.”
When speaking about Walls, Redmond believes that Lawson State is getting a talented athlete and a great leader in Walls.
“Cason has been a standout both on and off the field. His work ethic, leadership, and love for baseball have shaped him into the player—and young man—he is today. Lawson State isn’t just getting a talented athlete; they’re gaining someone who leads by example, supports his teammates, and plays every inning with grit and heart. I couldn’t be prouder of Cason and the road ahead. Lawson State is getting a special player, and an even better person. Congratulations Cason, I’ll be cheering you on every step of the way,” Redmond concluded.
