Dustin Bryant confirmed to the Times-Journal that he is no longer the Varsity Boys basketball coach at Fyffe High School.
Bryant said he was removed from coaching duties by Fyffe High School Principal Tim McCollum.
“I want to say thank you to all my players, they have all done everything I’ve asked them to do. This was my dream job and I’ve put my heart and soul into it every day,” said Bryant.
This past season the Fyffe Red Devils went 18-13 and earned a trip to the Sweet 16 at the Northeast Regional at Jacksonville State. In four years as the Fyffe coach, Bryant had a record of 63-59. Prior to Fyffe, Bryant was the varsity girls' coach at Ider where his record was 65-55. His overall record is 128-114.
“If the right coaching opportunity comes along, I will coach again,” Bryant said.
The Times-Journal reached out to McCollum but he was unavailable for comment at this time.
