FORT PAYNE, Ala. — At approximately 8 pm, an 18 wheeler struck a utility pole at the intersection of 4th street and Gault Avenue North (Highway 11) in Fort Payne, next to the City Park.

A large section of Gault Avenue, from 3rd street to 8th street is closed at this time. Crews on the scene were unsure of how long the section of road would be closed.

The driver of the truck was unharmed.
