Fort Payne 2-1(1-0) at Mae Jemison 2-2 (2-0)
The Wildcats travel to Huntsville for another region matchup with the Jaguars of Mae Jemison. Fort Payne is coming off a 28-6 win over Southside last week. The Jaguars are 2-0 in region play having defeated Hazel Green 14-6 and Lee-Huntsville 40-0 last week. Mae Jemison is scoring 16.8 points per game on offense and giving up 15.3 points per game on defense. As for the Wildcats they are scoring 19.7 points per game on offense and allowing 15.3 points per game on defense. Mae Jemison will be athletic and have speed at key positions. Fort Payne will need to control the game and predict the ball on offense, while the defense will need to keep the Jaguars behind the chains and must tackle well. Fort Payne leads the series 5-0 between the two schools. Fort Payne won last years contest 49-6.
Plainview (3-0) vs No. 2 Pisgah (2-1)
The Bears host the Pisgah Eagles for a big non region match up Friday night. The Bears have been rolling on offense with Quarterback Owen Hope and running back Brody Hodges, the offense is scoring 45 points per game. The Plainview defense is allowing only 12.7 points per game. For the Pisgah Eagles they have been scoring 41.3 points per game and the defense has allowed 28.7 points per game. The Eagles allow lost things season was against Fyffe 60-28. This is the 39th meeting between the two teams and Plainview holds a 27-11 lead in the all-time series. The last time Pisgah came to Plainview the Bears won a shootout 54-40 in 2021. Pisgah won last year 39-14.
Fyffe 3-1 (2-0) vs Brindlee Mountain 1-3 (0-2)
Its Homecoming at Fyffe this week as the Red Devils host the Brindlee Mountain Lions. Fyffe defeated Asbury last week 54-6 as Brindlee Mountain fell to Holly Pond 60-12. Look for the Red Devils to run the ball with Gipson to take control of this game early. Fyffe leads the all-time series 5-0.
Geraldine 3-0 (2-0) at Holly Pond 3-1 (2-0)
The Geraldine Bulldogs look to remain perfect as they travel to Cullman County to take on Holly Pond. Geraldine defeated Sylvania last week 64-21. Holly Pond picked up a 60-12 win over Brindlee Mountain. The Broncos are scoring 39.5 point per game while Geraldine is only giving up 13.7 points per game on defense. The Bulldogs lead the series 4-0 all time. Geraldine won last years meeting 55-6.
Sylvania 0-3 (0-2) vs Whitesburg Christian 1-2 (1-1)
The Rams look to get win number one on the season as they host Whitesburg Christian Friday night. Sylvania fell to Geraldine last week 64-21 and Whitesburg fell to Collinsville 24-21. Look for the Rams to control the game with its running game. This is the second meeting all time between the two teams, Sylvania won last year 49-21.
Ider 1-3 (0-2) vs Appalachian 4-0 (1-0)
The Hornets host regional leader Appalachian on Friday night. Ider played a great game last week at Valley Head coming up short las Valley Head scored last to win the game. Ider will need to control the ball against the Eagles. This is the second meeting all time between the two schools. Appalachian won last year 42-8.
Valley Head 3-1 (2-0) at Spring Garden 2-2 (1-1)
The Valley Head Tigers will make their third trip to Cherokee County this season Friday night as they travel to Spring Garden. The Tigers had a comeback win last week over Ider. Spring Garden fell to Woodville 41-26. Spring Garden is scoring 32.3 points per game and giving up 35.5 points per game. The Tigers are scoring 29.3 points per game and are allowing 26 points per game on defense. Valley Head leads the series 19-12 but has lost the has four meetings and last years game 32-12.
Collinsville 2-1 (1-1) vs Asbury 0-4 (0-2)
The Collinsville Panthers host the Asbury Rams Friday for a region match up. Asbury fell to Fyffe 54-6. Collinsville defeated Holly Pond 24-21. Asbury is giving up 51.5 points on defense while Collinsville is scoring 33 points per game. Collinsville has won all seven games against Asbury. Last year Collinsville won 62-0.
