The Marshall County Commission gathered for their first meeting of the month and got down to business quickly.
Marshall County EMA Director, Blake Farmer, started the meeting with a presentation of awards.
"The EMA staff has been working on their certifications. We had two get their basic and two received their advanced," Farmer said to the Commission. "Kim [Mayes] and Will [Kennamer] got their basic certification which means they completed over 300 hours of continuing education. George [Harwell] has successfully completed over 1,000 hours of continuing education hours."
"Thank you, we do have a good EMA Director and staff and we appreciate them," said District 4 Commissioner, Joey Baker after the presentation.
Cecilia Pullen, Executive Director of the Marshall County PALS, briefly spoke and thanked the Commission for their support of the organization.
"We want to thank the Community for their support. Thank you for the white goods pick up and the dumpsters at all the shops. We would like each of you to talk about PALS while you are in your District," Pullen spoke.
"We have been in the county for over 32 years and would like to think everyone knows what PALS does but they don't. I get one or two calls a week asking if I can pick up feral cats or dogs. We would appreciate telling people what we do and who we are. We thank you and appreciate your support."
