Week 5 means a break from Region play and the midway point of the season...and a County matchup we haven't seen in years.
Crossville Lions (0-4) vs Sand Rock (3-1)
The Rock comes calling after getting lashed by 34 points last week at Plainview. This one is a MUST WIN for the Lions...or they could be looking at an O-for this season.
Sand Rock's only convincing road win was at Gaylesville this year, so we aren't giving them much credit away from home. In contrast, Crossville has averaged 200 yards on the ground at home this season. Look for the Lions to ground and pound in the friendly confines.

Ider Hornets (2-2) at North Sand Mountain (0-4)
The Herd dominated Ider last season...but that was last season. NSM has yet to hold a team under 40 points this season, and while Ider hasn't necessarily lit it up, they are more than capable of putting it on the Bison. Ider should be able to control the tempo in this one from start to finish. Look for the Hornets to go in to North Sandy and walk away with a physically dominating victory.

Collinsville Panthers (3-1) at Horshoe Bend (1-3)
So....Jalyn Martin has more yards from scrimmage this season than the entire Horseshoe Bend team. Martin may set the single game rushing record at Collinsville in this one. You should be able to witness a complete destruction, an annihilation, a massacre, pure carnage, etc...

Geraldine Bulldogs (3-1) at Sardis (2-2)
This should be the best game on the slate this week as the Bulldogs travel to Sardis to face their first real post-Marcus Davis test. Sardis' two wins have came against Sylvania and Hokes Bluff this season, neither of which are top tier teams at the moment. This should be a dog fight, but I expect the hard nose Bulldogs to batter and outlast the less physical Lions.

Plainview Bears (3-1) at Section (2-2)
This could've been a fun one to watch if Chris Manning was still on the team. It won't be. He's not. The Bears will have backups in to start the 4th quarter for the second straight week as it'll get late early in Section. The key here for team Blue will be keeping every one healthy...the rest is just a formality.

Fyffe Red Devils (4-0) vs Sylvania Rams (2-2)
The Benefield Bowl. A little history here as Big Red takes on Mean Green for Homecoming.
Ram Nation is taking it as an insult that they were scheduled for Fyffe's Homecoming. The fact of the matter is, the Big Red Machine is averaging 50 points a game and I'm not sure if it matters who they schedule.
It will be interesting to watch these 2 distinctly different styles go at it. Sylvania will look to throw 25+ pass attempts in this one and try to force feed Lucas Wooten, while Fyffe will continue to churn out yards like Lily Flagg (Alabama's record setting butter cow from the 1800s...anyone?). In the end, Chad Anderson isn't walking through that door.
