FORT PAYNE, Ala. — According to Fort Payne Police Chief Randy Bynum: On Saturday February 9 at approximately 4:40 am an alarm call came in to the Fort Payne Police Department about a possible break in at Kilgore Express Pharmacy at 103 Greenhill Blvd NW.
Lt. Matt Wilson, Lt. Matt Jones, Sgt Rafael Cruz and patrolman Carl White all arrived to the area to find a dark colored Chevrolet pickup had ran through the front doors of the pharmacy. Officers observed the vehicle backing out of the pharmacy and preceding north onto Gault Ave. Officers preformed a felony stop on the vehicle and ordered the driver to step out of the vehicle.
The driver exited the vehicle without incident and was identified as Jeffery Allen Nunn, age 37 of Remlap, Alabama.
Mr. Nunn has several brands of pills on his person. They were identified and counted, he had 33 Oxycodone, 475 Lorazepam, 256 Tramadol and 21 Promethazine. The on call investigator charged Nunn with Burglary 3rd, Theft of Proprety 2nd, and Criminal Mischief 2nd.
The owner of the pharmacy, Lotha Kilgore, stated damages to the front doors would be $2500.00 and the value of the pills stolen would be $1000.00. The investigation continues and more charges may be pending for Nunn. The case was solved due to the quick response of the police officers and a valuable eye withness account.
