RAINSVILLE, Ala. — The DeKalb County Board of Education convened earlier tonight (Friday, February 24) to discuss personnel items, contracts, along with other items. The meeting was opened by Ider's Boy Scout Troop #304 presenting the colors and leading the board in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Notably, the Board of Education approved the placement of Former Superintendent Hugh Taylor as Ruhama Junior High's Secondary Science/P.E. Teacher.
The board also voted to approve a contract with the City of Fort Payne to stay in the bus garage until a new location can be constructed. Board Member Matt Sharp voted no on the contract.
Board members also approved a bid from Boatner Construction to the tune of $575,875.00 for construction on the Grandstand at Geraldine High School.
The next meeting will be Thursday, March 23rd at 5 pm with the work session beginning at 4 pm.
