Dogs Cage the Eagles

PISGAH, Ala. — The Geraldine Bulldogs defeated the Pisgah Eagles, 28-12 on Friday night.

With 2:39 remaining in the first quarter, Andrew Hall stampeded into the endzone for the score.  The point after attempt was good and Geraldine jumped to early 7-0 lead.

With 11:33 remaining in the second, Pisgah scored from 10 yards out.  The PAT was no good, making the score 7-6.  The Bulldogs moved the ball down the field on their next possession. Kyle Thackerson connected with DJ Graham on a 40-yard pass that set up the touchdown run by Andrew Hall with 6:31 remaining in the first half.

The Bulldogs scored on their first possession of the second half with a 4-yard dash into the endzone by Chase Kermondy.  The PAT after was good, making the score 21-6. With 3:06 remaining in the third, Pisgah scored on a 38-yard run. The Eagles went for two but were stopped by the Bulldogs, making the score 21-12.

The Bulldogs blocked the Eagle punt and scored two plays later with a 16-yard run by Anthony Baldwin. The kick was good.  Time ran out for the Eagles giving the Bulldogs the region  win.

Kermondy led the Geraldine Bulldogs with 82 yards on 14 carries and one touchdown.

Geraldine will host Susan Moore on Friday.
