CROSSVILLE, Ala. — The Sardis Lions defeated the Crossville Lions 50-25 on Friday night.
Sardis put the first points on the board with a 44-yard touchdown run to make the score 7-0. The Crossville Lions went three-and-out. With 4:59 remaining in the first, Sardis made their second touchdown of the night to broaden their lead to 14-0. Crossville answered back with a 90-yard touchdown by Trent Bryant to cut the lead to 14-6. After a Crossville fumble, the Sardis Lions dashed into the endzone to make the score 21-6.
In the second quarter with 9:21 remaining, Crossville’s Garrett Masters darted into the endzone. The 2-point conversion failed making the score 21-12. Hunter Haston connected with Bryant on a 68-yard pass for the Crossville touchdown. The PAT was good to cut the lead by two points 21-19 with 3:25 remaining in the half.
To start the third quarter, Sardis had no trouble moving the ball, scoring three more touchdown to increase their lead to 42-19.
With 11:52 left in the fourth, Crossville’s Harley Hicks scored on a 15-yard run. The 2-point conversion failed making the score 42-25. Sardis scored their last touchdown of the night and made a 2-point conversion for the 50-25 win over Crossville.
The Crossville Lions will travel to take on the Southside Panthers.
