Bisons Beat Hornets

IDER, Ala. — The Ider Hornets fell short in their fight against the North Sand Mountain Bisons, 64-20, last Friday night.

With 8:51 remaining in the first, Jacob Higdon scored on a 5-yard touchdown run for the Hornets. James Krebs’ PAT was good, giving Ider the early 7-0 lead. The Bisons answered back with a 60-yard touchdown pass, went for a two-point conversion to make the score, 8-7 with 8:17 left in the first. Ider’s Seth Hawkins scored again on a 9-yard dash into the endzone with 3:04 left in the first quarter, putting Ider back on top at 14-8.

By the beginning of the second quarter, the Bisons mowed the Hornets down with three additional touchdowns, bringing the score to 30-14. With 2:30 left in the half, Ider scores another touchdown to shrink the Bisons’ lead to 30-20. The Bisons responded with another score and two-point conversion making the score 38-20 at the half.

By the time there was 9:35 left in the third quarter, North Sand Mountain has broadened their lead to 57-20. The Bisons scored one more time before the game’s conclusion, defeating the Ider Hornets, 64-20.

Ider will travel to Cedar Bluff tonight.
