JACKSON COUNTY, Ala. — The Alabama Department of Transportation advises motorists that Alabama 71 between Jackson County 99 and Jackson County 697 north of Flat Rock will be closed to through traffic from 6 p.m. Friday, July 19 to 6 a.m. Monday, July 22, weather permitting, for a pipe repair. 

The official detour route for southbound traffic is Alabama 71 northbound to Georgia 136 eastbound to Georgia 301 southbound to Alabama 75 southbound to Alabama 117 northbound to Alabama 71 southbound. The route is reversed for northbound traffic. 

Highway advisory radios and message boards are in place to alert motorists to the upcoming closure.
