RAINSVILLE, Ala. — Dr. Barnett and the DeKalb County Board of Education are proud to announce the addition of 11, 2018 Thomas buses and one 2018 International special needs bus to the fleet that serves DeKalb County students. “I appreciate the commitment that Dr. Barnett and the Board have made to update our fleet,” notes transportation supervisor Dr. Atchley.

This year alone DeKalb County has invested over $900,000 on the purchase of new buses. In DeKalb County it is vitally important to offer quality, dependable transportation to and from school to  students who depend on school buses. On average we have 5123 daily riders and on buses that travel 2877 miles per day. Our goal is to earn parental trust by ensuring that their children are transported safely.

The new buses are equipped with the latest safety features including high-back seats, four camera DVR recording systems, and windshields that improve driver visibility.
