Man shot during altercation in Kilpatrick

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — According to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office: On Sunday, July 30th DeKalb County Deputies, Crossville Police, and Geraldine Police responded to a call on County Road 926 in the Kilpatrick community about an unwanted guest in addition to shots fired. It was discovered when officers arrived that two Hispanic males at the residence had got into an altercation. As they started to struggle over a firearm it discharged striking one of the males in the lower part of the body.

That individual was transported to Marshall Medical South by DeKalb Ambulance Service. His condition is unknown at this time.

No arrest or charges have been made due to this being a going investigation and no further information will be released at this time.  

DeKalb County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Edmondson said of the incident: “Thank you to the Deputies, Crossville Police, and Geraldine Police for their prompt arrival and for their assistance. With this being an open case we will be questioning the individuals that were witnesses at the scene so we can make the proper arrest if needed.”
