RAINSVILLE, Ala. — This past week, Liberty Tax Service officially opened up another office in DeKalb County. Located on Highway 35 in Rainsville, this Liberty Tax center provides the residents of Sand Mountain with another option for getting their income taxes done relatively close to home. While the location has been open since January 2nd, last week’s ribbon cutting marked its official opening.
Tiffany Robertson, who owns the Liberty Tax Service offices in both Rainsville and Fort Payne, explained that opening the Rainsville location was partially brought on during last year’s tax season. According to Robertson, “A lot of people were coming down to our Fort Payne office from Rainsville, Fyffe, Sylvania, and places like that to file their taxes, and many of them expressed interest in having a Liberty Tax closer to them.”
Robertson said that, while she’s been doing taxes for 20 years, this is only her fourth with Liberty, and her second owning any offices in the company. It was their principles and efforts to give back to the community that led her to want to become a part of the Liberty Tax family. This includes striving to offer, as she described it, “fast, accurate, and friendly service in a family-oriented environment.”
Looking into the future, Robertson said that she may consider opening more Liberty Tax offices across northeast Alabama, including Scottsboro, Guntersville, Albertville, and Collinsville, but for right now, the focus is on maintaining the Fort Payne and Rainsville locations.
For those needing to file their income taxes this year, the Fort Payne location is located on Gault Avenue North, across the street from Heritage Propane, while the Rainsville office is on Highway 35, across the street from The Package Store.
Both locations are open Monday through Saturday, 9 am to 9 pm, and on Sundays by appointment only.
