RAINSVILLE, Ala. — Officers of the Rainsville Police Department were quite active in the month of August, 2016, especially in the area of drug enforcement.
Officers made multiple arrests that were drug related. Overall, an estimated 208 grams of suspected methamphetamine were taken off the streets of Rainsville, resulting in 17 arrests made for drug related offenses.
These arrests were made from a variety of traffic stops, calls for service, and other criminal investigations. This has been attributed to the addition of more officers on the streets.
The Rainsville Police Department has moved to having three officers per shift, in order to protect the citizens and businesses and the property of the citizens of Rainsville.
Officers are out in force checking businesses, neighborhoods and schools, helping to ensure that Rainsville stays one of the safest cities in Alabama.
