YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS: Esme Escobar

YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS: Esme Escobar

Peggy M. Himburg

Sixth grader Esme Escobar was one of the participants in this year’s second annual Young Entrepreneur Expo. She did not enter the Expo last year, but she thought it would be something fun so she signed up this year.

Esme makes and sells chocolate covered strawberries. She named her business Tasty Treats. She came up with the name because it involved candy and baking things.

Making these tasty strawberries is new to Esme, but she was proud to sell them at the Expo. She thought the chocolate covered strawberries would be a fun thing to make and sell for her first time participating in the Expo.

The Expo was Esme’s first attempt at selling these treats. However, she does plan to continue her business.

Math is Esme’s favorite school subject. “I can add and solve stuff,” she adds.

Esme attends Collins Intermediate School. She plays soccer and runs Cross Country.

Esme is the daughter of Roberto Escobar and Felipa Tomas. Her two siblings are Brandon, age 11, and older sister Glendy who is 19.

This young lady likes puppies. She loves God and her family. Esme enjoys soccer. She says she “loves the shoe brands Uggs and Nike and the brand Lululemon”.

Some fun things Esme likes to do with her friends and family are playing games and watching movies. She also likes popcorn and candy.
