This week’s outstanding youth is Allyson Anderson. Allyson is a junior at Scottsboro High School and is a four-time Star Student.
Allyson is also a cosmetology student at Kevin Dukes Career and Innovation Academy. Through KDCIA, she became active in Skills USA. At the Skills USA Competition in Mobile, Allyson placed third in the high school division barbering competition.
Allyson’s favorite school subject is English because she loves reading and writing.
Allyson’s advice for freshmen is, “Learn that the one person you can always count on is yourself; learn to love yourself.”
“My favorite part of Scottsboro High School is the opportunities that come with being a Wildcat. I am blessed,” Allyson said.
Besides working hard in school, Allyson also has real working experience through her time with Scottsboro Parks and Recreation and Chick-fil-A.
When she’s not working or studying, Allyson enjoys playing volleyball, reading, baking and cutting hair.
Allyson’s mother is Charity Hester and her grandmother is Teresa Ball. Allyson has three siblings: Alexis Burks, Abigale Black and Ethan Anderson.
Allyson plans to attend a cosmetology school close to home and become a cosmetologist or barber.
