The Douglas FFA now has a new name, “North District Champions” of the North District Land Evaluation Career Development Event.
They placed first out of 35 teams who competed and brought home a team score of 650.
Andrew Jones also won the highest scoring individual award with a score of 219.
Zane Hayes finished 2nd in the contest with a score of 216, and Isaac Lee tied for 3rd out of 128 competitors with a score of 215.
“I’d like to thank our Marshall County NRCS and Marshall County Soil and Water Conservation Board for always putting on a great Marshall County contest earlier in the Fall,” said Andrew Brock, Douglas FFA Instructor. “The experience of a great local contest definitely helps our teams to be better prepared for the district contest.”
The team will advance to State Competition later this school year.
Brock also mentioned that Guntersville placed 3rd and Albertville placed 6th.
Team members include Chapter President, Isaac Lee, Chapter Vice President, Zane Hayes, Lane Hampton, Andrew Jones, Eli Watts, Isaiah Watts, and Josiah Covarrubias.
Earlier in October, the Douglas FFA was in the top 10% out of 9,163 FFA Chapters nationwide.
The Douglas FFA chapter was awarded 3 Star status on the main stage of the National FFA Convention at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis for the 4th consecutive year.
