DeKalb County School's employee arrested during drug investigation.

During an narcotics investigation Monday evening in Fyffe a DeKalb County school system employee was arrested. 

In a statement released by Dekalb County school system  superintendent Wayne Lyles confirm the arrest Tuesday afternoon.

The superintendent’s office was made aware of the arrest on Tuesday and Mr. Lyles said the arrest was made off campus and after school hours. 

“The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain the district's top priority. The individual involved has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation,” said Lyles. 

As this is an active law enforcement matter, DeKalb County Schools will not be providing additional details at this time. The district is fully cooperating with the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office and will continue to monitor the situation closely 

DeKalb County Schools remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity among all employees and will take appropriate action as warranted by the findings of the investigation.
