DAVIS MAKES CUT DOWN UNDER

Story By Heath Hambrick

Harrison Davis, a native of Fort Payne, made his first professional cut in the Ford NSW Open on the PGA Challenger Tour in Australasia. This week's event is taking place at The Vintage Golf Course in Pokolbin, New South Wales.

In round one, Davis shot a 4-over round of 75, tied for 84th.

On Friday, the putter for Davis came alive. Davis shot a 4-under 67 to advance him to the weekend for the first time in his professional career.

In the Friday round, Davis posted three birdies and an eagle on the front nine for a 6-under 30. On the back nine, he added another eagle to his card on the tenth hole. Davis held on to make his first cut by four shots.

Davis heads into Saturday's third round in 27th place overall. The leaders are 7-under par for the tournament.
