Fort Payne man among five nabbed in sting

Five men were jailed in the Marshall County, facing child exploitation charges following an undercover sting, including a Fort Payne resident.

Albertville Police said their department, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and the Marshall County District Attorney’s Office worked in conjunction with Covenant Rescue Group and Homeland Security Investigations in an undercover operation in Albertville recently.

Five men were arrested and include:

• Roger Brian Ayers, 54, of Guntersville, facing two counts traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act and two counts of electronic solicitation of a child

• Ricardo Isaias Carrillo Becerra, 36, of Fort Payne, facing one count of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act and one count of electronic solicitation of a child

• Juan Eduardo Paredes Rios, 26, of Attalla, facing two counts of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act and two counts of electronic solicitation of a child

• Mario Antonio Rocha Placensia, 40, of Fyffe, facing one count of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act and one count of electronic solicitation of a child

• Gerardo Orellana, 44, of Buford, GA., facing one count of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act and one count of electronic solicitation of a child

Each man remains housed in the Marshall County Jail under $1 million bond each.

 Assistant Police Chief John Amos said the bonds were set high by a judge due to the seriousness of the charges.
