FORT PAYNE, Ala. — According to Fort Payne Police Chief Randy Bynum: On August 23rd, at approximately 9:32pm, Fort Payne Officers and Dekalb Drug Task Force went to 4915 Martin Ave Apartment G-2 directly across from Fort Payne Middle School to investigate possible drug activity.

Once inside the residence officers and agents were given written and verbal consent by the lessee, Mildred Christina Thompson, age 42, to search her apartment.  During the search officers found several syringes and baggies of light brown powder substance. The light brown powder substance tested to be Heroin.

Thompson was arrested and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
