CENTRE, Ala. — According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office: Two men were taken into custody by Sheriff’s Office investigators on Monday, February 5, 2018, from a residence near the intersection of County Roads 31 and 33.
According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, investigators were looking for Jeffery L. Jordan, 54 of Centre, on a fugitive from justice warrant from Georgia in connection with an aggravated assault.
The suspect was also found to be in possession of illegal drugs and a stolen vehicle from Floyd County and additionally charged with first degree receiving stolen property, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Another individual at the residence, Rudy Mills, (38 of Piedmont), was also arrested for first degree receiving stolen property, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Mills had additional warrants for bond revocation and non-support.
Both were transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center. Jordan will be extradited to Georgia upon making bond in Cherokee County.
