SCOTTSBORO, Ala. — According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office: During the month of September 2017, a series of business burglaries have been reported in the Sand Mountain area of Jackson County.  These burglaries have ranged from Rosalie to Section and have specifically targeted gas stations/convenience stores.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division began an investigation into these burglaries and established a pattern of operation by the suspects. Several security videos were obtained and it was determined that the same suspects were involved in all but one of the burglaries.

Investigators and Patrol Deputies confronted the occupants and determined that they were the suspects in some of the previous burglaries.  Evidence was obtained which helped establish the suspect’s involvement.

Both suspects Justin Lamont Erskine age 28 of Huntsville, Alabama and Joshua Lamar Crowell age 26 of Madison, Alabama were arrested and charged with Burglary 3rd degree and Possession of Burglar Tools. Bond has not yet been set and additional charges are anticipated.
