Run away juvenile from Tennessee located in Fort Payne, two arrested

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — According to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office: On September 26th DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit went to a residence on County Road 79 in Fort Payne, due to numerous complaints about drug activity and a tip that a run away from Tennessee was at the residence. Fort Payne Police Department and DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit went to the residence to pick up a run away juvenile from Tennessee and while they were investigating the juvenile the Drug and Major Crimes Unit found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the residence.

As a result Christopher Adam Berry, 40 of Fort Payne and Ricky Lee Beavers, 56 of Fort Payne was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

The juvenile was taken in custody and turned over to Tennessee authorities.

DeKalb County Chief Deputy Michael Edmondson said, “Thank you to the citizens for calling in these complaints and tips on the juvenile being at this residence. Fort Payne Police and the Drug and Major Crimes unit did a great job working together on this case.”
