COLLINSVILLE, Ala. — According to a release from the Collinsville Police Department: On September 23, 2017 at approximately 4:13 am Officer Scott Green and Reserve Officer Amanda McCormick conducted a traffic stop on a white GMC truck occupied by a white male and white female with no tail lights at the intersection of Co Rd 51 and George Cagle Dr.
The driver was identified as David Bone of Sand Rock and the passenger as Ashley Hancock of Fyffe. Officer Green said that while speaking with the driver he was very cooperative with law enforcement. Reserve Officer McCormick was on the passenger side speaking with the female and noticed a small black bag partially hidden under her leg. Reserve Officer McCormick advised Officer Green what she had observed. When Officer Green and Reserve Officer McCormick approached the vehicle again the small black bag had been moved. Officer Green then asked the driver out and conducted a pat down for weapons. Reserve Officer McCormick got the passenger out to conduct a pat down for weapons and she immediately stated that whatever was found belonged to her.
Upon the pat down on the female passenger Reserve Officer McCormick found a pack of rolling papers along with a plastic baggie that contained crystal methamphetamine. The passenger was taken into custody. After a search of the vehicle a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine along with marijuana and some drug paraphernalia was also located. The passenger was arrested for Possession with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana 1st. She is being held in the DeKalb County Detention Center on bonds totaling $45,000.
