Section man arrested in connection to Cherokee County burglary

CENTRE, Ala. — According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver: A Jackson County man was taken into custody by investigators on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, in connection to a Cherokee County burglary, which occurred approximately two weeks ago.

Sheriff's Office investigators with assistance from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office located the suspect in the Dutton area and recovered a firearm stolen in the burglary.  Johnny T. Townson, 24 of Section was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center where he awaits bond on burglary charges.

Mr. Townson is to be considered innocent until proven guilty. According to family, this was a domestic dispute and Townson was retrieving items from his ex-wife's mother-in-law while she was out of town.
