CENTRE, Ala. — A new Cherokee County deputy has graduated the Jefferson County Sheriff's Academy in Birmingham! Dalton Cosby, of Cedar Bluff, will be hitting the street's as the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office's newest law enforcement officer.
Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, Chief Deputy Tim Hays, Chief Investigator Josh Summerford, and Lieutenant Bo Jolly attended Deputy Dalton Cosby's graduation ceremony from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Academy in Birmingham on Thursday, May 11th.
Deputy Cosby completed four months of training at the Jefferson County academy, which exceeds the minimum requirement by the Alabama Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission.
Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver stated, "We are very proud of Dalton, and we're excited to add him to our team."
