The Fair Is Coming to Town

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — The fair is coming back to town from September 23-28 at the VFW Fairgrounds in Fort Payne. This year's theme is "Land That I Love." 

The gates of the 64th Annual DeKalb County VFW Agricultural Fair will open at 5pm each night.

This year's schedule is as follows: 

  • Monday, September 23: "Twin City Used Car Sales Night" Free Admission & All Rides from 5pm to 6pm. Tickets only from 6pm to close at $1.25 per ticket or $25 for 22. 
  • Tuesday, September 24: $20 Ride-A-Thon from 5pm to close with exceptions (Alter Egos, 2 additional tickets required)
  • Wednesday, September 25: "Dollar Night" all rides $1; Vietnam Veteran's Night (free admission with proof of service)
  • Thursday, September 26: 2 Armbands for $25 (midway only, sold as a set, exception: Alter Egos, 2 additional tickets required)
  • Friday, September 27: "Fun Night" Tickets only. Tickets are $1.25 each or 22 for $25.
  • Saturday, September 28: $18 Ride-A-Thon & Kid's Day from 10am to 3pm (exception Alter Egos, 2 additional tickets required) kids and teachers admitted free with tickets. Children under 6 admitted free with an adult. Fun Time from 3pm to close. 

Various musical acts will perform over the week including: The Foggy Hollow Band, Christianaires, Young Musicians of DeKalb County, Jess Kellie Adams & Band, Woody Wright and The Sharps. 

Admission fees are $4 per person. Children under the age of six are admitted free when attended by an adult. Parking is $3.
