Alabama’s tax-free weekend for back-to-school shopping begins at 12:01 a.m. Friday and ends at midnight Sunday.

The event give shoppers the opportunity to purchase certain supplies, computers, and clothing free of state sales tax. Eligible items will be free from local sales tax in particpaing counties and municipalities.
