Students from the DeKalb County Technology Center scored high in last month’s Skills USA competition in Mobile.
The school had four state champions and at least 13 medals.
Those earning awards were:
John David Vargas – Welding, Gold; state champion
Braxton Daugherty – Beginning Welding, Silver
Crimson Ward – Masonry, Gold; state champion
Martin Andres – Masonry, Bronze
Manna Massey – Medical Math, Gold; state champion
Amy Zaterian – Medical Math, Silver
Samineyen Blount - Basic Healthcare Skills, Gold; state champion
Julie Hawkins - Basic Healthcare Skills, Silver
Riley McBride – Motorcycle Service Technology, Bronze
Jacob Atchley – Collision Repair Technology, Bronze
Katelyn Lands – Automotive Refinishing Technology, Silver
