SYLVANIA, Ala. — Sylvania student Alexis Stevens won fourth place in the state FFA public speaking competition.
Stevens previously won first place at the district competition.
“This is the highest that the school has ever gone,” said Sylvania Ag teacher, Joey Haymon.
The Sylvania FFA was selected as a gold chapter. A gold chapter is a fairly prestigious honor as only twenty out of the state’s 400 chapters are selected to hold this title.
“We’ve had a really good [team] from top to bottom,” said Haymon.
