RAINSVILLE, Ala.-- A groundbreaking was held on Tuesday, May 10, for an expansion on Highway 75 in Rainsville.
According to the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT), a turn-line will be added for the safety of Cornerstone Christian Academy School and the Northeast Alabama Agribusiness Center.
Cornerstone Christian Academy, a K-12 school system along with the Northeast Alabama Agribusiness Center has experienced problems with the traffic flow on a daily basis.
Alabama House of Representatives Majority Leader Nathaniel Ledbetter plans to seek additional funding to increase the expansion of a three-lane that will run to Dilbeck Road in Rainsville. Numerous businesses use the road for commercial traffic and the added turn lane would be a useful addition for traffic flow and safety.
Surveys have been made for the addition but a timeframe for when the work will begin is unknown.
