RAINSVILLE, Ala. — On Friday, February 8, former Rainsville Mayor Donnie Chandler, 65, passed away. Chandler served as Mayor for ten years from 2002 to 2012. Prior to becoming mayor, he served for several years on the Rainsville City Council. He was retired from the Waterworks Board of Section-Dutton.

"Everyone loved Donnie. Rainsville turned the corner into the 21st century under his watch and that leadership is still felt today as the City grows," said former Rainsville Mayor Nick Jones. "Donnie's legacy will continue to remain prominent in the Rainsville history books. He will be missed."
