Rainsville to Receive Homeland Security Grant

RAINSVILLE, Ala.-- In a special called meeting on Wednesday, the Rainsville City Council voted to accept a Homeland Security Grant in the amount of $50,000 for two Rainsville City Departments.  The Rainsville Fire Department and Rainsville Police Department will both receive $50,000 each for ten (10) heavy-duty tablets for their vehicles.  The cost to the City was $1,118.00 per grant. 

The Council also voted to change their regularly scheduled meeting to September 9, due to the Labor Day holiday.  The work session will begin at 4 pm and the regular council meeting at 4:30 pm.
