Rainsville Santa Dash Just Around the Corner

Rainsville Santa Dash Just Around the Corner

This year, The Santa Dash charity run will debut in Rainsville as an avenue of providing Christmas gifts to under privileged children at Plainview school. As of December 4h, over two hundred people have signed up for the one-mile run, and it has already inspired spin-offs in Sylvania and Fort Payne.

"It's pretty phenomenal, because we've done no promotion besides word-of-mouth and Facebook. The community has supported this far beyond my expectations, and I hope that other communities to continue to do the same thing. Every place has kids with needs," said Clifton.

The city of Rainsville supported the Santa Dash by providing the cost of shirts for participants, leaving the entire thirty-dollar entry fee untouched by expenses.

The Santa Dash will take place before Rainsville's annual Christmas Parade on December 13th at 4 p.m. and is open to people of all ages. To enter, contact Jerry Clifton via Facebook or call The Carpet Center at (256) 638-4211. Deadline for participants to receive an event shirt is 11 a.m. on Friday, December 5.
