SCOTTSBORO, Ala. — In a world full of voices, the ones you should be listening to every weekday morning belong to a tall shiny jokester named Joe and his bright and clever co-host named Jenna Sue.
He’s not your Average Joe.
A great storyteller, who enjoys reeling you in like bass from Lake Guntersville, Joe is an avid motorcyclist and thinks college football is the sport of the gods.
At 18, Joe was framing houses in Tennessee and had a nasty accident where he almost cut his leg off. A neighbor, the legendary Dave Walton, who lived up the street from Joe in Nashville, was a huge influence. Faced with the decision of keeping both his legs or possibly building a career handing out free tee shirts, working in radio was the obvious choice for Joe.
You could say the music scene in Nashville runs two generations deep. His mother was a Country Music singer. His dad was the Postal Carrier on Music Row for 30 years.
Joe and his wife Lori have two fantastic children who share their parents’ love for fun, humor, and acting a fool. Joe’s favorite personal saying is, “Ignorance is a relative question, now just who are your relatives?”
One of the things that drives Joe is helping in his community. He loves that about this industry: broadcasters are at the forefront of helping communities.
“Radio’s responsibility is to the community,” says Joe. “We should be stewards of our fellow man, and radio has allowed me to be a part of so many different and most meaningful levels.”
In addition to his Morning Show, Joe also serves as the new Operations Manager of WKEA and WMXN. The entire staff is excited about some of the positive changes he has already implemented.
Sharing the mic in the mornings is his co-host Jenna Sue. She has been waking people up for over twenty years in Northeast Alabama, mostly her neighbors because she’s knocking about trying to find hot coffee. Jenna serves as the Director of Sales for Southern Torch Media.
“We are looking to create a positive energy in our show that gets people up and going and ready to face the day! Joe’s laughter is contagious,” said Jenna Sue.
Joe and Jenna Sue are looking forward to bringing laughter and information to your mornings. They also want to bridge communities together, and help the local business owner share their stories.
